CE 2.2

CE 2.2

1.  Bastrop County Judge Paul Pape says the fire may have been caused by an intentionally set burn pile; a farm accident could have also caused the fires.

2.  Local musician SaulPaul nominated Alan Guckian for the award, citing his "natural passion" and stating "he knows his craft.....Parents love him; they show up for band performanes in force-that communicates how great he is"

3. 30-year-old British racing star Lewis Hamilton is anticipated to win the F1 season crown.

4. Ginger Gold, Honeycrisp, Jonagold and McIntosh apples are mentioned.

5. I would like to try the real vanilla. I think it could be better than synthetic versions.

1. I have not purchased a physical textbook, but I have paid late fees for the ones I failed to return on time. Most of the times I have had to do this, I never ended up using the textbook the school and I paid for.

2. Not having a textbook has hurt my grades in the past because there are some teachers who only teach  the curriculum outlined in the book. Most assignments, especially in the math subjects, are directly from the book.

3. Going digital overall has been the best decision the school district has made in a while- you can tell from the look of some physical textbooks that they've seen their day. Not only do online textbooks provide a free, accessible service but they offer supplementary tools such as videos and online quizzes. Students can search for information instead of flipping through pages- and the online version is always up to date.

4. This trend will most likely continue in the US- in fact, I would consider AISD far behind with regards to the digitization of its teaching material. I don't believe textbooks will become completely obsolete, as they are often a reliable source of information, but there should be more effort put into improving accessibility of teaching material.

5. The school district did away with textbooks to increase accessibility of information. Kids who can't afford a physical textbook as well as kids with certain learning disabilities or disorders will be able to use the digital version. This keeps everything consistent-often the physical version of the book is identical to the online version, minus supplementary information in videos.
