PHOTOS

1. What is your favorite photo in the entire paper?
My favorite photo is Violet Glenewinkle's photo of the STC doing vocal exercises for Tarzan.
1A. Why is this your favorite?
This is my favorite photo because it has a good composition-it adheres to the rule of thirds, there is a pattern and a line of movement.

2. What is your least favorite photo in the entire paper?
My least favorite photo is the lit Zilker Park Christmas tree.
2A. Why is this your least favorite?
This is my least favorite photo because the lights on the tree are far-away and unfocused. Although the trees in the foreground are an attempt at framing, they are dark and contrast too much with the focus of the picture. Also, the title of the article doesn't match the photo- this image is mostly dark.

3. If you were a photographer on staff, which event/photo assignment would you have liked to do for this issue? You will need to look through the entire paper and see the topics covered and decide which one you think would have been fun.
I would have liked to do any of the athletic photography. It's a challenge to capture action that would only last a split second without photos. The soccer team would have been especially fun to photograph.

4. Overall, how would you rate the photography in this issue? What were the strong points and weak points.

The photography was good in this issue, though the Zilker tree photo is weak in my opinion and shouldn't have been on the front page. A lot of the pictures I found interesting- the activities on Science Day and the STC- were a little too small. Also, there were too many photos on the culinary holiday luncheon page- just one or two would be fine. Yeager's WWII collection picture, the cheerleading picture, and the beekeepers were excellent highlights.
